Spectators: 8483 (Terracing: 6364, Seating: 1950, VIP seats: 169) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jorge Rico started the match with the kick off. Inácio Quinaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabino Vilhena, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After taking down the ball on Matos Velhos's corner Generoso Silvino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Inácio Quinaz quite easily take care of the ball. Ribeirada's Inácio Quinaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Gentil in the 14th minute of play. Inácio Quinaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabino Vilhena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 20 played minutes Ribeirada got a freekick which was hit by Mats Stenman. Adalberto Peres took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Inácio Quinaz. Ribeirada's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Inácio Quinaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabino Vilhena in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ribeirada's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Generoso Silvino was slow to take the kick. During this time Matos Velhos's players had a chance to rest. Sabino Vilhena made a great header on Matos Velhos's corner, it was just that Ribeirada's Inácio Quinaz managed to reach the ball for a save. Vito de Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basarab Ceaușu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute Ribeirada were awarded a corner. Jorge Rico went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 28th match minute, Ribeirada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Adalberto Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Inácio Quinaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Júlio Gentil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Inácio Quinaz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jiang Qing Lin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd match minute, Ribeirada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Ongao to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Ribeirada's zone, Generoso Silvino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Quinaz came out of the goal and Generoso Silvino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ribeirada's Inácio Quinaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jiang Qing Lin in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio Gentil to make the kick off. Jorge Rico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Vito de Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 52nd match minute, Matos Velhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durval Meira to maneuver through the defense. Henrique Candal in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Inácio Quinaz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 65th minute of the match, Jiang Qing Lin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Inácio Quinaz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Matos Velhos made a substitution. Lee Beckford replaced Henrique Candal. After 68 minutes Ribeirada's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tord Böcklund who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Karl Nietlisbach managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mats Stenman in the 71st minute of play. Jorge Rico might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito de Godoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Rico ran back to his position shaking his head. 79 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Rico came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inácio Quinaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Gentil, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Mats Stenman made a precise shot to the right of Vito de Godoi. Matos Velhos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Mats Stenman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 87 minutes into the match, Ribeirada's goalkeeper Inácio Quinaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Beckford. Inácio Quinaz came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Matos Velhos's Jiang Qing Lin. But to his dismay, Jiang Qing Lin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 91 minutes into the game, Ribeirada's Mats Stenman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vito de Godoi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Matos Velhos played a much better game than Ribeirada and deserved their victory. The Ribeirada players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
