Diogo Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laurentino Fontes in the 4th minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, A.D.E.Penamacorense's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Henriques came free, but Diogo Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristiano Viegas hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Adriano Henriques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 played minutes Mindelos Academy got a freekick which was hit by Bartolomeo Roßberger. 33 minutes into the match, Mindelos Academy's goalkeeper Márcio Varanda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Murillo. Sílvio Amaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Márcio Varanda made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Henriques in the 40th minute of play forced A.D.E.Penamacorense's goalkeeper Diogo Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Albérico Vilhena fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.D.E.Penamacorense's protests and gave Albérico Vilhena a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, one of A.D.E.Penamacorense:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for A.D.E.Penamacorense. In the 45th match minute, Mindelos Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aprígio Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Amaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Varanda having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Murillo got free with Márcio Varanda in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laurentino Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Diogo Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Henriques in the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Amaro in the 69th minute of play forced Mindelos Academy's goalkeeper Márcio Varanda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes Mindelos Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jose Murillo who took care of the corner kick. Romão Gomes hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The supporters of A.D.E.Penamacorense booed when Mindelos Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romão Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Márcio Varanda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Amaro in the 74th minute of the match. With a little luck, A.D.E.Penamacorense's Diogo Castro got control of the ball when Laurentino Fontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mindelos Academy's Adriano Henriques got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A.D.E.Penamacorense's Diogo Castro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save A.D.E.Penamacorense from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Mindelos Academy's Diogo Castro threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adriano Henriques, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Márcio Varanda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mindelos Academy walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
