Márcio Varanda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herbert Mindykowski in the 10th minute of play. If Laurentino Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Márcio Varanda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Sagrario in the 13th minute of the match. Adriano Henriques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilhelm Bure read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Herbert Hammarström hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Mindelos Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Hammarström came free, but Márcio Varanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aprígio Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Miguel Veloso took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Márcio Varanda. Mindelos Academy's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mindelos Academy's goalkeeper Márcio Varanda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 44 minutes of play, Barbeita FC's Rogelio Sagrario made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Márcio Varanda was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Mindelos Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Barbeita FC were winning 0-3.

Herbert Mindykowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Márcio Varanda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herbert Mindykowski ran back to his position shaking his head. Rogelio Sagrario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márcio Varanda having to make a save. Bartolomeo Roßberger took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilhelm Bure. Wilhelm Bure dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After 64 minutes of play, Mindelos Academy's Adriano Henriques made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilhelm Bure was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 67 minutes Barbeita FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Laurentino Fontes who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Mindelos Academy's Aldaír Caneira got a free kick in the 68th minute. Rogelio Sagrarios short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Márcio Varanda to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Márcio Varanda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rogelio Sagrario in the 77th minute. In the 93rd match minute, Mindelos Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romão Gomes to maneuver through the defense. If Rogelio Sagrario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilhelm Bure stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adriano Henriques's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Wilhelm Bure came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Mindelos Academy's Adriano Henriques. But to his dismay, Adriano Henriques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3.
