With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vladimiro Medeiros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vladimiro Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurentino Fontes in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurentino Fontes in the 25th minute of play forced Vaz FC's goalkeeper Vladimiro Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Mindelos Academy's goalkeeper Márcio Varanda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodor Cercel. 29 minutes into the match, Romão Gomes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimiro Medeiros. Vaz FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romão Gomes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mindelos Academy reached it. The supporters of Mindelos Academy booed when Vaz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Mourinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Vaz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Henriques came free, but Vladimiro Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 67th minute of the match, Adriano Henriques tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vladimiro Medeiros saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Mindelos Academy's zone, Teodor Cercel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Márcio Varanda came out of the goal and Teodor Cercel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Laurentino Fontes put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Vladimiro Medeiros. Mindelos Academy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laurentino Fontes in the 78th minute. Romão Gomes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Vladimiro Medeiros skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mindelos Academy's Romão Gomes was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 78th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Vaz FC's Vladimiro Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Vaz FC from getting a goal against them. Mindelos Academy's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
