Cecilio Polo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Academia Ansião reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Piara Turko managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Brás FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Piara Turko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Simão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Academia Ansião were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Piara Turko made a kick off. Clemente Simão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gervásio Palhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the match was over Academia Ansião could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than São Brás FC throughout the match.
