When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Jürgen Behnke put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Salvador Sordo. Salvador Sordo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fu Han Qiang in the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Eureka's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Montiel came free, but Salvador Sordo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salvador Sordo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trifon Katsoulis in the 12th minute of play. Salvador Sordo came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Andarilhos's Trifon Katsoulis. But to his dismay, Trifon Katsoulis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Salvador Sordo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fu Han Qiang in the 19th minute of the match. After 19 played minutes Eureka got a freekick which was hit by Quintino Lobo. Trifon Katsoulis struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Salvador Sordo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Andarilhos. Salvador Sordo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fu Han Qiang, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fu Han Qiang in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Sordo saved Eureka from getting behind. After some careless play in the Eureka defense, Jürgen Behnke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Salvador Sordo. The Eureka fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Salvador Sordo should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laureano Portugal got free with Jon Oblak in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the match, Eureka's goal looked a bit too open when Fu Han Qiang came free, but Salvador Sordo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jon Oblak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laureano Portugal in the 31st minute. Trifon Katsoulis took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Salvador Sordo. Salvador Sordo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 40 minutes into the match, Eureka's goal looked a bit too open when Jürgen Behnke came free, but Salvador Sordo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Andarilhos getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Luís Espinosa hit a great ball. Salvador Sordo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jürgen Behnke, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Fu Han Qiang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Andarilhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Fu Han Qiang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salvador Sordo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute, Trifon Katsoulis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Salvador Sordo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dário Colaço in the 64th minute of play forced Andarilhos's goalkeeper Jon Oblak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Eureka's zone, Fu Han Qiang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Salvador Sordo came out of the goal and Fu Han Qiang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eureka's Salvador Sordo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jürgen Behnke in the 73rd minute of play. If Armindo Barcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Andarilhos's Andrzej Zawaski was substituted for Trifon Katsoulis. Lisandro Luz's late challenge caught a Andarilhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lisandro Luz helped the player get up and apologised. Lisandro Luz hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the game, Belchior Valadão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eureka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Andarilhos the free kick. Belchior Valadão kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Salvador Sordo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrzej Zawaski in the 93rd minute of play.
