Spectators: 9225 (Terracing: 6920, Seating: 2122, VIP seats: 183) F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 16th minute Gonzalo Lixandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Péter Mészáros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inácio Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Bomba took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Qiu Chuan Ran. Qiu Chuan Ran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Qiu Chuan Ran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Bomba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Qiu Chuan Ran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The wind increased when Raimundo Ventura made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Bomba got free with Qiu Chuan Ran in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 54th minute of the match F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a corner. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Igor Tudor ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Igor Tudor to fire away a dangerous shot which Qiu Chuan Ran despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience was convinced that Rodolfo Faria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Péter Mészáros was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Péter Mészáros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonzalo Lixandro in the 84th minute of the match. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nino Moi in the 89th minute of play. The Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching F.C. Paços de Ferreira's performance. The match ended with a win for F.C. Paços de Ferreira.
