The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Ekukinam Ihekire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reuben Ndudi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ebii Ibirogba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Onyii Aghahowa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Chineze Olowokandi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Onyii Aghahowa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Onwuamaegbu Aduku notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Farnsfield City's Chineze Olowokandi. Chineze Olowokandi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Bayton City's zone, Ebii Ibirogba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reuben Ndudi came out of the goal and Ebii Ibirogba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Onyii Aghahowa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Onwuamaegbu Aduku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chineze Olowokandi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chineze Olowokandi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Onwuamaegbu Aduku went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ekukinam Ihekire stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Olakunle Adegbite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Farnsfield City and the Bayton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Farnsfield City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olakunle Adegbite to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Farnsfield City's zone, Onwuamaegbu Aduku stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chineze Olowokandi came out of the goal and Onwuamaegbu Aduku tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 61 minutes into the game, Amogechukwu Onyeguocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bayton City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Farnsfield City the free kick. Amogechukwu Onyeguocha hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Erhabor Salahudeen, 62 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Reuben Ndudi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ekukinam Ihekire went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Bayton City booed when Farnsfield City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Onyekachi Anosike didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chineze Olowokandi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Onwuamaegbu Aduku in the 74th minute of play. Reuben Ndudi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ekukinam Ihekire, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Onyii Aghahowa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Onyii Aghahowa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Onwuamaegbu Aduku recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Chineze Olowokandi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Onwuamaegbu Aduku in the 98th minute of the match. Bayton City's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
