In the 3rd minute of the match, Alfred Afolayan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Harrison Skinn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Onyemere Abanu's late challenge caught a Barrow-in-Furness AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Onyemere Abanu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th match minute, Samskid FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Onyemere Abanu to maneuver through the defense. Harrison Skinn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnson Kolapo in the 6th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Alfred Afolayan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Harrison Skinn, 1-0. In the 17th minute, Samskid FC's Onyemere Abanu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Onyemere Abanu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Samskid FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Onyemere Abanu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 17th minute, one of Samskid FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Samskid FC. Harrison Skinn had in the 19thth minute some difficulties stopping Alfred Augustine Oyeoku's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Samskid FC's goalkeeper Harrison Skinn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bassey Maifata. 24 minutes into the match, Samskid FC's goal looked a bit too open when Johnson Kolapo came free, but Harrison Skinn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Barrow-in-Furness AFC's zone, Chidiegwu Samake stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samson Ojomo came out of the goal and Chidiegwu Samake tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Barrow-in-Furness AFC's Ikedinachukwu Gowon got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Ebii Ezeafulukwe fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Samskid FC's protests and gave Ebii Ezeafulukwe a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Samskid FC got a freekick which was hit by Ebii Ezeafulukwe. When Iloerika Osiro came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Samskid FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iloerika Osiro couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Iloerika Osiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samson Ojomo was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. When Samskid FC's Iloerika Osiro in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barrow-in-Furness AFC's goalie prevented a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Johnson Kolapo to strike the kick off in the second half. Harrison Skinn came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Barrow-in-Furness AFC's Johnson Kolapo. But to his dismay, Johnson Kolapo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Edwin Adeboye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Samskid FC's Iloerika Osiro got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Iloerika Osiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Samson Ojomo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 66th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Harrison Skinn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnson Kolapo in the 70th minute of play. Iloerika Osiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Samson Ojomo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 73 minutes into the match, Iloerika Osiro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Samson Ojomo, 2-2. In the 77th minute, Gabriel Ganiyu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chidiegwu Samake in the 79th minute of play forced Barrow-in-Furness AFC's goalkeeper Samson Ojomo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The attack was good, but when Iloerika Osiro in the 82nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Harrison Skinn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johnson Kolapo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samson Ojomo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iloerika Osiro's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Samskid FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
