Ahmadu Onobo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Mattew Pama tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute of the match Ugonna Achegbulu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nwabugwu Odubena skillfully saved the ball. Aliyu Dombraye took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nwabugwu Odubena. Nwabugwu Odubena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, Dunchurch's goal looked a bit too open when Nwokeocha Odejayi came free, but Mattew Pama reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Lewes FC's Nwokeocha Odejayi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mattew Pama. That made the score 1-1 after 22 minutes of play. In the 29th minute Nwokeocha Odejayi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattew Pama saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmadu Onobo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 31 played minutes Dunchurch got a freekick which was hit by Criss Ambaka. Aliyu Dombraye took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nwabugwu Odubena. Nwabugwu Odubena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Sochima Anyanwu hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Sulaimon Ajibade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nwokeocha Odejayi to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Sochima Anyanwu had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After a rather tough play, Lewes FC's Chikere Owomoyela got a free kick in the 58th minute. Mattew Pama showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmadu Onobo in the 64th minute of the match. Nwokeocha Odejayi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ahmadu Onobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Dunchurch getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Sopuluchi Asuzu hit a great ball. If Nwokeocha Odejayi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Aliyu Dombraye got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Furo Ezukanma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Ahmadu Onobo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lewes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmadu Onobo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattew Pama breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mattew Pama took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmadu Onobo , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ahmadu Onobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
