An unexpectedly hard shot by Jatau Ejoh in the 10th minute of play forced Pontefract's goalkeeper Erfan John Erhenede to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rapuokwu Tachambong didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Pontefract's Habakkuk Taura shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If Feyisayo Efunkoya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jatau Ejoh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erfan John Erhenede having to interfere. Rapuokwu Tachambong was a little too slow when Bo Maifata got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-1. Jatau Ejoh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erfan John Erhenede having to interfere. If Habakkuk Taura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Chidiebere Adikwu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erfan John Erhenede stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Feyisayo Efunkoya's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Doncaster's Jatau Ejoh got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bo Maifata to strike the kick off in the second half. After 61 played minutes Pontefract got a freekick which was hit by Chukwumaobim Shittu. Doncaster's Jatau Ejoh got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Feyisayo Efunkoya struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Erfan John Erhenede didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doncaster. Jatau Ejoh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 72 minutes, Jatau Ejoh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Doncaster's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jatau Ejoh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Bawa Adebodun fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Doncaster's protests and gave Bawa Adebodun a yellow card for diving instead. After 75 played minutes Doncaster got a freekick which was hit by Bawa Adebodun . The audience held their breath when Chidiebere Adikwu in the 77th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Rapuokwu Tachambong 's left hand side. When Feyisayo Efunkoya came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Doncaster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Feyisayo Efunkoya couldn't finish the play. Feyisayo Efunkoya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Erfan John Erhenede tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Habakkuk Taura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pontefract had won after a very even match.
