Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chimaoke Omoyinmi in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elewechi Darangi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Buckfast Abbey's Kunle Mbong got a free kick in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the game, Bernard Aduaka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buckfast Abbey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trowbridge United the free kick. The supporters of Trowbridge United booed when Buckfast Abbey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernard Aduaka didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mala Ojudun came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Trowbridge United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mala Ojudun couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute, Chimaoke Omoyinmi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trowbridge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 17 played minutes Buckfast Abbey got a freekick which was hit by Bernard Aduaka. The audience was convinced that Ekenedilichukwu Ifakachukwu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elewechi Darangi was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. With 20 minutes on the clock, Bernard Aduaka commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Ibn Habu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elewechi Darangi having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Buckfast Abbey's goal looked a bit too open when Mala Ojudun came free, but Elewechi Darangi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th match minute, Buckfast Abbey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bello Mbolu to maneuver through the defense. After 30 minutes of play, Trowbridge United's Ekenedilichukwu Ifakachukwu made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elewechi Darangi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ini Achi struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Elewechi Darangi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trowbridge United. 39 minutes into the match, Mala Ojudun had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elewechi Darangi. Buckfast Abbey's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mala Ojudun was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After having played for 44 minutes, Ibn Habu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trowbridge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ibn Habu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Mala Ojudun notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Buckfast Abbey's Elewechi Darangi. Elewechi Darangi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Trowbridge United were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ini Achi was the one to do the kick off. Elewechi Darangi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mala Ojudun in the 52nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Ekenedilichukwu Ifakachukwu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Buckfast Abbey's Kunle Mbong got a free kick in the 54th minute. Buckfast Abbey's Elewechi Darangi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Buckfast Abbey from getting a goal against them. Ekenedilichukwu Ifakachukwu scored 0-8 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elewechi Darangi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ini Achi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elewechi Darangi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Buckfast Abbey's goalkeeper Elewechi Darangi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mala Ojudun. Elewechi Darangi made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Ekenedilichukwu Ifakachukwu sent off a good shot on target. When Trowbridge United's Mala Ojudun in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Buckfast Abbey's Elewechi Darangi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Buckfast Abbey from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ekenedilichukwu Ifakachukwu in the 92nd minute of play forced Buckfast Abbey's goalkeeper Elewechi Darangi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Trowbridge United's Elewechi Darangi threw himself towards the right post 93 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ini Achi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mala Ojudun might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elewechi Darangi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mala Ojudun ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Trowbridge United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Buckfast Abbey throughout the match.
