In the 23rd match minute, Ormskirk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ibeabuchi Yussuf to maneuver through the defense. After 24 minutes of play, Eccles FC's Tobe Salako made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chuma Abbey was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ormskirk's Chuma Abbey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maduabuchi Omorere in the 28th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Ormskirk's goal looked a bit too open when Tobe Salako came free, but Chuma Abbey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Maduabuchi Omorere got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maduabuchi Omorere in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chuma Abbey saved Ormskirk from getting behind. Dahiru Otere's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Idris Eze firmly grabbed it by the left post. Izu Ifesinachi's late challenge caught a Eccles FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Izu Ifesinachi helped the player get up and apologised. Chuma Abbey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maduabuchi Omorere in the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Maduabuchi Omorere notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Ormskirk's Chuma Abbey. Chuma Abbey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osaze Pama made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Dahiru Otere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ormskirk's supporters rose to their feet, but Dahiru Otere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Idris Eze breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Eccles FC's zone, Osaze Pama stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Idris Eze came out of the goal and Osaze Pama tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Eccles FC booed when Ormskirk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izu Ifesinachi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes Ormskirk got a freekick which was hit by Ogbuefi Uchendu. Chuma Abbey made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Maduabuchi Omorere sent off a good shot on target. Tobe Salako sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
