Chukwuma Nwachukwu scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lawrence Edereho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kosisochukwu Oludimu in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Warman Adubasim, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Kosisochukwu Oludimu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, Abraham Ikem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Grimsby City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Akamadu Fashiro scored to the left of an out of position Warman Adubasim, making the score, 1-1. The supporters of Deal FC booed when Grimsby City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umar Anbalaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grimsby City's Warman Adubasim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akamadu Fashiro in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Deal FC's Nnachi Oyebode got a free kick in the 28th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Grimsby City's Chiagoziem Ewuga tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Chiagoziem Ewuga charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chiagoziem Ewuga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd minute, Chiagoziem Ewuga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmadu Aro kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Lawrence Edereho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Umar Anbalaga went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Lawrence Edereho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chukwuma Nwachukwu in the 40th minute of the match. Lawrence Edereho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chukwuma Nwachukwu, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Chukwuma Nwachukwu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Akamadu Fashiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Akamadu Fashiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Warman Adubasim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Umar Anbalaga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lawrence Edereho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Umar Anbalaga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Umar Anbalaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute Chukwuma Nwachukwu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Edereho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nwebube Otubusen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Deal FC's Lawrence Edereho got control of the ball when Chukwuma Nwachukwu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Chukwuma Nwachukwu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grimsby City's supporters rose to their feet, but Chukwuma Nwachukwu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lawrence Edereho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chukwuma Nwachukwu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Lawrence Edereho made a huge save. Tayo Kolawole struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Warman Adubasim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deal FC.
