Spectators: 5162 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 162) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eche Ekeh started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Keelby United got a freekick which was hit by Chinagorom Geidam . After a defensive mix-up in Keelby United's zone, Osinachi Agege stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osondu Sodje came out of the goal and Osinachi Agege tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Keelby United's goalkeeper Osondu Sodje, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 8 minutes, Eche Ekeh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Keelby United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eche Ekeh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chibuzor Diya struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Osondu Sodje didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Osun United. 12 minutes into the game, Osi Adeleye was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Keelby United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Osun United the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Keelby United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! The crowd rose to their feet as Nwakaego Babangida kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Osondu Sodje. That made the score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. With an all-out effort, Osun United's Osondu Sodje threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nwakaego Babangida, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Osinachi Agege who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Osondu Sodje when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Keelby United's goalkeeper Osondu Sodje had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osinachi Agege. 39 minutes into the game, Victor Obinna Uchara recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Osondu Sodje. Victor Obinna Uchara showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Bankole Umeana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robai Julius Ngoka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nwakaego Babangida to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Nwakaego Babangida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Osun United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nwakaego Babangida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 54 minutes, Chibuzor Diya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bankole Umeana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robai Julius Ngoka in the 57th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Osun United's goal looked a bit too open when Eche Ekeh came free, but Bankole Umeana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robai Julius Ngokas short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Bankole Umeana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nwakaego Babangida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osondu Sodje having to interfere. Bankole Umeana acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Osi Adeleye. In the 71st minute, Victor Obinna Uchara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osondu Sodje was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Nwakaego Babangida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Osondu Sodje having to make a save. 76 minutes into the game, Chibuzor Diya cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Osondu Sodje was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 82 minutes, Osinachi Agege made it 8-0 with a short kick to the right side. Keelby United's Osondu Sodje tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Osondu Sodje made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Obinna Uchara in the 85th minute of play. Osondu Sodje stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Obinna Uchara's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Bankole Umeana came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Keelby United's Robai Julius Ngoka. But to his dismay, Robai Julius Ngoka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-1. 96 minutes into the game, Osun United's Victor Obinna Uchara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osondu Sodje made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-1. Osun United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
