In the 28th minute, one of Redruth AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Redruth AFC. In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Nantwich. Blessed Igandan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Opeyemi Betara. 0-3. If Chinua Onianwa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olusegun Nalaya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Opeyemi Betara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After 48 played minutes Redruth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Okon Akpanaha. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chinwendu Adekwu made a kick off. Olusegun Nalaya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Opeyemi Betara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Olusegun Nalaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Opeyemi Betara didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 58th minute, which inside left pole to 0-5.
