Spectators: 6861 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1861, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Countesthorpe's goal looked a bit too open when Chibuike Dibiezue came free, but Ubanwa Utaka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 6 minutes, Rapuluolisa Belleh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Countesthorpe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rapuluolisa Belleh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kabir Ovie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute Rapuluolisa Belleh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jamuike Uwagwu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Countesthorpe's goalkeeper Ubanwa Utaka, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Countesthorpe's Ubanwa Utaka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Countesthorpe from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute, Rapuluolisa Belleh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Haydock's Nwabuno Achunine ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ubanwa Utaka. Ubanwa Utaka yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Chibuike Dibiezue got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 2-1 in the right cross in the 40th match minute before Ubanwa Utaka had time to react. After a defensive mix-up in Countesthorpe's zone, Kaodilinakachukwu Solomon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ubanwa Utaka came out of the goal and Kaodilinakachukwu Solomon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Chibuike Dibiezue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Kaodilinakachukwu Solomon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Chibuike Dibiezue's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ubanwa Utaka was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rapuluolisa Belleh got free with Jamuike Uwagwu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kabir Ovie ran back to his position shaking his head. Ubanwa Utaka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaodilinakachukwu Solomon in the 66th minute of play. If Kaodilinakachukwu Solomon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kabir Ovie in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jamuike Uwagwu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Haydock getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Kaodilinakachukwu Solomon hit a great ball. Joseph Adamu kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Kabir Ovie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jamuike Uwagwu having to interfere. After 84 minutes, Nwabuno Achunine mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haydock and the Countesthorpe players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joseph Adamu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jamuike Uwagwu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kabir Ovie, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Haydock's Jamuike Uwagwu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Haydock from getting a goal against them. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
