Iroawuchi Ibileke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edith Adedina got free with Iroawuchi Ibileke in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute Adeshina Awosupin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iroawuchi Ibileke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edith Adedina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pirate Captain F.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Adeshina Awosupin scored to the left of an out of position Iroawuchi Ibileke, making the score, 1-0. 33 minutes into the match, Pirate Captain F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Adeshina Awosupin came free, but Iroawuchi Ibileke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Juju's Ndu Ajatta got a free kick in the 37th minute. If Edith Adedina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adeshina Awosupin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Iroawuchi Ibileke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adeshina Awosupin was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match, Nike Usideme sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Gabriel Aguebor showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Edith Adedina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iroawuchi Ibileke having to interfere. Adeshina Awosupin struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Iroawuchi Ibileke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juju. 64 minutes into the game, Adeshina Awosupin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Iroawuchi Ibileke was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Edith Adedina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iroawuchi Ibileke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edith Adedina's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Gabriel Uzochukwu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Gabriel Aguebor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adeshina Awosupin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iroawuchi Ibileke having to make a save. Pirate Captain F.C's Iroawuchi Ibileke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adeshina Awosupin in the 78th minute of play. The supporters of Juju booed when Pirate Captain F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Goodness Iyawe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Goodness Iyawe kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After 86 played minutes, Juju's Ndu Ajatta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iroawuchi Ibileke came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Juju reached it. After having played for 87 minutes, Ndu Ajatta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juju's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ndu Ajatta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Juju were the better team. Juju's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
