The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Edith Adedina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Bosun Ochiagha's late challenge caught a Juju's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bosun Ochiagha helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Margate got a freekick which was hit by Bosun Ochiagha. Adeshina Awosupin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Adeshina Awosupin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olaka Ekeh hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adeshina Awosupin made a kick off. Akabueze Dickson charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Akabueze Dickson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Margate getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Akabueze Dickson hit a great ball. In the 68th minute, Olaka Ekeh sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Margate's Tasiu Onwuzuruike didn't even have to move. Raymond Akiti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Aguebor having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edwin Ogbara during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adolphus Enebechi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Gabriel Aguebor managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Margate's Raymond Akiti fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 96th minute, Margate got a penalty, and Sylvester Aneke placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
