Chienezie Adeduntan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Gillingham AFC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Osi John Erhenede hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Ita Igbinadolor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cleobury Mortimer AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ita Igbinadolor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chioke Okoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gillingham AFC's Azubuike Umanah got his second yellow card of the match in the 28th minute. The referee ordered Azubuike Umanah off the ground. After a rather tough play, Gillingham AFC's Azubuike Umanah got a free kick in the 29th minute. Gillingham AFC's Eluem Osaiyuwu got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amaechi Bunu's late challenge caught a Gillingham AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amaechi Bunu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cleobury Mortimer AFC's Amaechi Bunu got a free kick in the 36th minute. If Eluem Osaiyuwu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Ajilore Akinrolabu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cleobury Mortimer AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ajilore Akinrolabu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chioke Okoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eluem Osaiyuwu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gillingham AFC's Chioke Okoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blessed Idachaba in the 59th minute of play. Gambo Amuneke charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gambo Amuneke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st minute, Gambo Amuneke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cleobury Mortimer AFC's Eseosa Okwuono proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Cleobury Mortimer AFC from getting a goal against them. Benson Bankole kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Cleobury Mortimer AFC defense, Eluem Osaiyuwu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eseosa Okwuono. The Cleobury Mortimer AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eseosa Okwuono should have stopped the shot. After having played for 71 minutes, Eluem Osaiyuwu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gillingham AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eluem Osaiyuwu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yisa Chirki was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 73rd minute. Gillingham AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Eluem Osaiyuwus short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Eseosa Okwuono to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 79th minute, Ajilore Akinrolabu made a precise shot to the right of Chioke Okoi. Gillingham AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 87th minute, Gillingham AFC's Eluem Osaiyuwu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eseosa Okwuono. Eseosa Okwuono yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Eluem Osaiyuwu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 97thth minute, Eseosa Okwuono skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gillingham AFC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
