Obika Ajah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Makama Akoza in the 4th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Chike Abacha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carterton United's supporters rose to their feet, but Chike Abacha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Akubundu Bunu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Simon Banye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 17 minutes into the match, Titilayo Abbey notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Knottingley FC's Akubundu Bunu. Akubundu Bunu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Knottingley FC's Akubundu Bunu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Titilayo Abbey in the 23rd minute of play. Carterton United's Obika Ajah proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Carterton United from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Titilayo Abbey in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Akubundu Bunu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Titilayo Abbey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Akubundu Bunu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Akubundu Bunu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Titilayo Abbey's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 39 minutes in the game, Titilayo Abbey dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Chike Abacha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carterton United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chike Abacha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Titilayo Abbey struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Akubundu Bunu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carterton United. In the 48th minute, Chike Abacha made a precise shot to the right of Akubundu Bunu. Knottingley FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Simon Banye made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nonye Ajasin in the 57th minute of play forced Carterton United's goalkeeper Obika Ajah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Titilayo Abbey notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Knottingley FC's Akubundu Bunu. Akubundu Bunu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chike Abacha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 97 minutes into the match, Knottingley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Chike Abacha came free, but Akubundu Bunu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Carterton United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
