The referee gave FC Pirate a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Odii Ayinla, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chelsea FC's Bukar Eikhali. 0-1. Idoko Brown Agunu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mma Onobi in the 11th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Iyke Elejiko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Okoli Madugu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Idoko Brown Agunu having to interfere. After having played for 24 minutes, Okwuadigbo Godwin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Pirate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Okwuadigbo Godwin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Okwuadigbo Godwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30thth minute of the game Okwuadigbo Godwin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chelsea FC's Bukar Eikhali was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chelsea FC's Bukar Eikhali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Okwuadigbo Godwin in the 33rd minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Iyke Elejiko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Pirate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iyke Elejiko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Okwuadigbo Godwin sped through Chelsea FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bukar Eikhali. Okwuadigbo Godwin scored 0-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bukar Eikhali, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half FC Pirate were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mma Onobi made a kick off. Chelsea FC's Bukar Eikhali proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Chelsea FC from getting a goal against them. Idoko Brown Agunu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mma Onobi in the 59th minute of play. Bukar Eikhali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Okwuadigbo Godwin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Iyke Elejiko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Nna Egah. Bukar Eikhali made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iyke Elejiko in the 67th minute. Bukar Eikhali made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Iyke Elejiko sent off a good shot on target. Idoko Brown Agunu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mma Onobi went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Idoko Brown Agunu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mma Onobi in the 74th minute of play. Mma Onobi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Idoko Brown Agunu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mma Onobi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Idoko Brown Agunu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Mma Onobi struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Idoko Brown Agunu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea FC. Mannaseh Adejoh took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Idoko Brown Agunu. Idoko Brown Agunu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Iyke Elejiko managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Pirate's supporters rose to their feet, but Iyke Elejiko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bukar Eikhali breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
