The supporters of Rawmarsh booed when Huddersfield City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nike Adegoroye didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22ndth minute of the game Oyeyiola Olutola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Huddersfield City's Kelvin Omanukwue was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Oyeyiola Olutola came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Rawmarsh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oyeyiola Olutola couldn't finish the play. Mudschahid Oloukun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gozie Obikwelu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bekololari Dauda in the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bekololari Dauda to make the kick off. Oyeyiola Olutola might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kelvin Omanukwue. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oyeyiola Olutola ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 66th minute, Gideon Dibiezue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oyeyiola Olutola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kelvin Omanukwue having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bekololari Dauda in the 71st minute of play forced Rawmarsh's goalkeeper Gozie Obikwelu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nike Adegoroye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gozie Obikwelu having to interfere. In the 78th minute Bekololari Dauda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gozie Obikwelu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chuma Wambai charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chuma Wambai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Huddersfield City booed when Rawmarsh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chuma Wambai didn't get a good kick on the ball.
