Obika Ajah didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Swaffham FC. After a rather tough play, Carterton United's Ijeagha Dimeji got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 19 minutes of play, Swaffham FC's Eluem Alagala made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Obika Ajah was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Ojore Ochegbulu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Obika Ajah was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Swaffham FC's zone, Titilayo Abbey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otuonye Bazunu came out of the goal and Titilayo Abbey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Titilayo Abbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute of the match, Chike Abacha tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Otuonye Bazunu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 48th minute Chike Abacha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otuonye Bazunu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eluem Alagala stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Swaffham FC's Jide Yekini got a free kick in the 51st minute. Swaffham FC's Eluem Alagala got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th match minute, Carterton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ijeagha Dimeji to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 59 minutes, Ojore Ochegbulu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Swaffham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ojore Ochegbulu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 2-4 became the score in the 61st minute when Eluem Alagala elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 67 minutes into the game, Eluem Alagala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Swaffham FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carterton United the free kick. In the 72nd minute Titilayo Abbey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otuonye Bazunu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Otuonye Bazunu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chike Abacha in the 73rd minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Carterton United's goal looked a bit too open when Eluem Alagala came free, but Obika Ajah reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute Eluem Alagala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Obika Ajah saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Swaffham FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Swaffham FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
