The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Mezie Roro made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Bekololari Dauda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Bekololari Dauda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Huddersfield City's Kelvin Omanukwue got control of the ball when Shola Achebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Mezie Roro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derby AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mezie Roro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kelvin Omanukwue breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Derby AFC's Chiazagomekpele Aiyetan got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 91st minute of the match Oluwole Alachi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manga Lartey skillfully saved the ball. Chiazagomekpele Aiyetan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute.
