Spectators: 7569 (Terracing: 5700, Seating: 1700, VIP seats: 169) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tony Adeleye started the match with the kick off. Nwachukwu Okudo made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Aliyu Owonaru sent off a good shot on target. In the 3rd match minute, Huyton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egutu Dudu to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Huyton's zone, Aliyu Owonaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nwachukwu Okudo came out of the goal and Aliyu Owonaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 6 minutes into the game, Mezie Abiola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huyton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bromyard the free kick. In the 5th minute, one of Huyton:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Huyton. The referee gave Bromyard a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ajuluchukwu Jakada, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Huyton's Nwachukwu Okudo. 1-0. In the 9th match minute, Huyton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iheatu Egbo to maneuver through the defense. Nwachukwu Okudo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tony Adeleye's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 14th minute, Iheatu Egbo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 18 minutes into the match, Huyton's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Adeleye came free, but Nwachukwu Okudo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Adeleye sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Istifanus Ehikwe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nwachukwu Okudo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aliyu Owonaru in the 27th minute. Rafiu Aminu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafiu Aminu in the 35th minute of play forced Bromyard's goalkeeper Feyisayo Tunde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bromyard's goalkeeper Feyisayo Tunde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Iheatu Egbo made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Bromyard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kodilinyechukwu Uwen to maneuver through the defense. Aliyu Owonaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nwachukwu Okudo having to interfere. Iheatu Egbo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Feyisayo Tunde made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Rafiu Aminu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Adeleye in the 73rd minute of play forced Huyton's goalkeeper Nwachukwu Okudo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iheatu Egbo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Feyisayo Tunde came out and tried to block the shot, but Iheatu Egbo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 74th minute. In the 79th minute of the match Ajuluchukwu Jakada sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nwachukwu Okudo skillfully saved the ball. Tony Adeleye sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute Tony Adeleye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nwachukwu Okudo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96thth minute of the game Iheatu Egbo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bromyard's Feyisayo Tunde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bromyard's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
