Chuka Auyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akubundu Adefulu having to interfere. Kodilinye Kofa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chukwuraenye Arumona, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A collision led to Lincoln FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ganiyu Agba hit a great ball. The supporters of Lincoln FC booed when Haywards Heath FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abiodun Oyewumi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kodilinye Kofa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ositadimma Olaoye's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. The supporters of Haywards Heath FC booed when Lincoln FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hussein Emeka didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Ositadimma Olaoye put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kodilinye Kofa. In the 43rdth minute of the game Chukwuraenye Arumona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haywards Heath FC's Kodilinye Kofa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Peter Ejibunu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Haywards Heath FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lincoln FC the free kick. Peter Ejibunu kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The Haywards Heath FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Lincoln FC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Ositadimma Olaoye made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Haywards Heath FC got a freekick which was hit by Danny Ekwueme. Chukwuraenye Arumona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Haywards Heath FC's Kodilinye Kofa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ositadimma Olaoye in the 57th minute of play. Chukwuraenye Arumona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kodilinye Kofa having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Chukwuraenye Arumona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 75 minutes, Chukwuraenye Arumona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lincoln FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chukwuraenye Arumona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kodilinye Kofa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chukwuraenye Arumona in the 76th minute of the match. If Ositadimma Olaoye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Haywards Heath FC's goalkeeper Kodilinye Kofa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Haywards Heath FC were furious when Danny Ekwueme was red carded, 83 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Haywards Heath FC! Haywards Heath FC:s Kodilinye Kofa showed great skill when he stopped Nwabugwu Jazom:s penalty. After some careless play in the Haywards Heath FC defense, Nwabugwu Jazom kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kodilinye Kofa. The Haywards Heath FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kodilinye Kofa should have stopped the shot. Chukwuraenye Arumona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Kodilinye Kofa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kodilinye Kofa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ositadimma Olaoye in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Ganiyu Agba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chukwuraenye Arumona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Chukwuraenye Arumona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle sounded Lincoln FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Haywards Heath FC.
