Haywards Heath FC's Kodilinye Kofa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emelogu Abiche in the 9th minute of play. Martin Akubuike fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kodilinye Kofa having to interfere. Chuka Auyo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Omotayo Olutola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maduabuchi Temitayo in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Chidozie Nnanyelugo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kodilinye Kofa. Haywards Heath FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chidozie Nnanyelugo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Liskeard's Martin Akubuike in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 20th minute of the match Ifesinachi Shahada sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kodilinye Kofa skillfully saved the ball. Haywards Heath FC's Maduabuchi Temitayo got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Liskeard's goal looked a bit too open when Chuka Auyo came free, but Omotayo Olutola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Liskeard's Herbert Abodunde got a free kick in the 24th minute. If Abiodun Oyewumi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26thth minute of the game Martin Akubuike who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haywards Heath FC's Kodilinye Kofa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Haywards Heath FC defense, Promise Agali kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kodilinye Kofa. The Haywards Heath FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kodilinye Kofa should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Martin Akubuike's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kodilinye Kofa was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Maduabuchi Temitayo was shown his second yellow card after 42 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Martin Akubuike's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kodilinye Kofa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. If Martin Akubuike had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Martin Akubuike made the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Chidozie Nnanyelugo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kodilinye Kofa. The supporters of Liskeard booed when Haywards Heath FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chuka Auyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 75 played minutes Liskeard got a freekick which was hit by Ndubuagha Ogor. If Martin Akubuike had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Akubuike recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Haywards Heath FC's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Akubuike came free, but Kodilinye Kofa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Akubuike in the 97th minute of play forced Haywards Heath FC's goalkeeper Kodilinye Kofa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
