With an extended leg and a bit of luck Akubundu Adefulu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 17 minutes into the match, Rawtenstall's goal looked a bit too open when Ositadimma Olaoye came free, but Otitodilichukwu Echiegu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otitodilichukwu Echiegu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chukwuraenye Arumona in the 20th minute of the match. If Rapuokwu Ijemere had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rawtenstall's Osita Amu got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Deeyah Adebodun's late challenge caught a Lincoln FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Deeyah Adebodun helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lincoln FC booed when Rawtenstall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deeyah Adebodun didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 33 minutes of play Rawtenstall's Deeyah Adebodun was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
