Spectators: 8421 (Terracing: 6316, Seating: 1937, VIP seats: 168) Lagos FC's Temple Aiyetan started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Laudamus Taura was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lagos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Desto the free kick. Laudamus Taura hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Henry Gana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Itimi Adegunte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ogochukwu Esin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henry Gana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Deyour Oyai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lam Okoroanyanwu came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Desto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lam Okoroanyanwu couldn't finish the play. After 28 minutes of play, Desto's Lam Okoroanyanwu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Deyour Oyai was left in no man's land by his defense there! Deyour Oyai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mojolaoluwa Abugu went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henry Gana in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Deyour Oyai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Desto's Ogochukwu Esin in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lagos FC's goalie prevented a goal. Deyour Oyai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lam Okoroanyanwu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Ogochukwu Esin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deyour Oyai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 played minutes Lagos FC got a freekick which was hit by Nnachetam Kato. Lagos FC's Deyour Oyai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ogochukwu Esin in the 42nd minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henry Gana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Desto booed when Lagos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laudamus Taura didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute, Ogochukwu Esin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Deyour Oyai was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Desto's Henry Gana got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Ogochukwu Esin took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Deyour Oyai to make any attempt to save it. Chukwumaobim Kwasau kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 66 played minutes Lagos FC got a freekick which was hit by Rachidi Ajanaku. Lam Okoroanyanwu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Essien Odemwingie charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Essien Odemwingie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Essien Odemwingie kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Ogochukwu Esin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Deyour Oyai made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Ogochukwu Esin sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Temple Aiyetan in the 76th minute of play forced Desto's goalkeeper Bola Akinyele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lam Okoroanyanwu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Deyour Oyai skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lagos FC's zone, Orchena Adaji stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Deyour Oyai came out of the goal and Orchena Adaji tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Deyour Oyai managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Desto's Ogochukwu Esin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 88th minute Rachidi Ajanaku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bola Akinyele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mojolaoluwa Abugu hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, Desto's goal looked a bit too open when Temple Aiyetan came free, but Bola Akinyele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ogochukwu Esin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deyour Oyai having to interfere. Itimi Adegunte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
