But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Promise Agali couldn't finish the play. Ime Agoro struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Omotayo Olutola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hornchurch. Chidozie Nnanyelugo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddy Achilike having to make a save. Liskeard's Martin Akubuike got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 33 minutes, Herbert Abodunde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Liskeard's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Abodunde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ijeagha Odizor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omotayo Olutola having to interfere. Promise Agali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Achilike having to interfere. Ndubuagha Ogor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Eddy Achilike tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Liskeard's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
