Enang Babangida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 6 minutes, Osita Amu made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Haywards Heath FC's Kodilinye Kofa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Otitodilichukwu Echiegu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Adeshina Tsehe. Kodilinye Kofa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rapuokwu Ijemere, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Osita Amu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Kodilinye Kofa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osita Amu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 19 minutes into the game, one of Haywards Heath FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Rawtenstall. Kosi Adefarasin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kodilinye Kofa. 0-2. Rapuokwu Ijemere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osita Amu in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kodilinye Kofa saved Haywards Heath FC from getting behind. Rapuokwu Ijemere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kodilinye Kofa having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Rawtenstall's goal looked a bit too open when Chuka Auyo came free, but Otitodilichukwu Echiegu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Rapuokwu Ijemere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rawtenstall's supporters rose to their feet, but Rapuokwu Ijemere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kodilinye Kofa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rapuokwu Ijemere succeeded in the game's 48th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. After the first half Rawtenstall were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chuka Auyo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match, Darlington Adejumo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kodilinye Kofa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 58 minutes, Deeyah Adebodun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rawtenstall and the Haywards Heath FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Chiazagomekpele Aboyade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kodilinye Kofa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 70th minute, which inside left pole to 0-4. Rapuokwu Ijemere in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kodilinye Kofa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Osita Amu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rapuokwu Ijemere could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Kodilinye Kofa made a huge save. Kodilinye Kofa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osita Amu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Rawtenstall's Osita Amu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kodilinye Kofa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kodilinye Kofa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deeyah Adebodun, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 96th play minute Rapuokwu Ijemere came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Kodilinye Kofa. 0-5. Rawtenstall's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
