In the 7th minute, Samson Etoh Adeeko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arising star fa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bankole Moses made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samson Etoh Adeeko in the 16th minute of play. Chiekwugo Azazi's late challenge caught a Yate FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chiekwugo Azazi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st match minute, Arising star fa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bankole Adeyinka to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the game, Yate FC's Boniface Ephraim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Udochukwu Omorodion made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Chukwufumnanya Oliseh kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Udochukwu Omorodion. That made the score 2-1 in the 32 minute of play. After 35 played minutes Yate FC got a freekick which was hit by Olamide Adejumobi. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chukwufumnanya Oliseh in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Udochukwu Omorodion saved Arising star fa from getting behind. Nnachetam Famewo struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Bankole Moses didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arising star fa. Arising star fa's Samson Etoh Adeeko got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chinwe Abiola was the one to do the kick off. Boniface Ephraim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Udochukwu Omorodion having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Arising star fa's Chiekwugo Azazi got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Arising star fa's Udochukwu Omorodion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chukwufumnanya Oliseh in the 57th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olamide Adejumobi during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 59 played minutes Yate FC got a freekick which was hit by Olamide Adejumobi. In the 65th minute, Samson Etoh Adeeko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. After having played for 77 minutes, Boniface Ephraim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boniface Ephraim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nnachetam Famewo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Bankole Moses made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samson Etoh Adeeko in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Yate FC. Chukwueloka Onyewuchi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Udochukwu Omorodion. 3-2. Many of Arising star fa's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Arising star fa may have spent more time on the ball, but Yate FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
