The audience thought a goal was coming when Halim Uduma got free with Kodilinye Bagudo in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Bala Abdullahi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diamond fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Bala Abdullahi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osibajo Oladiji breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Diamond fc's Kodilinye Bagudo got control of the ball when Halim Uduma tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 19 minutes, Obidimkpa Fatai mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diamond fc and the Bredon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Obidimkpa Fatai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osibajo Oladiji showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olasunkanmi Amaechina, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 29 minutes into the game, Osinachi Ewuga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diamond fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bredon the free kick. 31 minutes into the match, Diamond fc's goalkeeper Kodilinye Bagudo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Halim Uduma. Olasunkanmi Amaechina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osibajo Oladiji took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olasunkanmi Amaechina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nsofor Mbolu's late challenge caught a Diamond fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nsofor Mbolu helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Bredon's Nsofor Mbolu got a free kick in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Olasunkanmi Amaechina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diamond fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Olasunkanmi Amaechina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osibajo Oladiji breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abishai Tafawa Balewa in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kodilinye Bagudo saved Diamond fc from getting behind. Osibajo Oladiji showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bala Abdullahi, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Halim Uduma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute Abishai Tafawa Balewa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kodilinye Bagudo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abishai Tafawa Balewa to make the kick off. Kodilinye Bagudo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abishai Tafawa Balewa went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Kodilinye Bagudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abishai Tafawa Balewa, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Osibajo Oladiji made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olasunkanmi Amaechina in the 58th minute of play. Abishai Tafawa Balewa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olasunkanmi Amaechina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halim Uduma in the 68th minute of play forced Diamond fc's goalkeeper Kodilinye Bagudo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nebechukwu Akinola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Halim Uduma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kodilinye Bagudo having to interfere. Abishai Tafawa Balewa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kodilinye Bagudo having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Abishai Tafawa Balewa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Kodilinye Bagudo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bredon's Nsofor Mbolu got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Nsofor Mbolu off the ground. The supporters of Diamond fc booed when Bredon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nsofor Mbolu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halim Uduma in the 92nd minute of play forced Diamond fc's goalkeeper Kodilinye Bagudo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abishai Tafawa Balewa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kodilinye Bagudo having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Halim Uduma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bredon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Halim Uduma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Bredon had played much better football throughout.
