After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Cletus Cletus Anosike managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beacon united's supporters rose to their feet, but Cletus Cletus Anosike was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jibril Anzigah breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tolulope Peters short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Effiong Adegunloye to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tolulope Peter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Effiong Adegunloye having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tolulope Peter in the 41st minute of play forced Beacon united's goalkeeper Effiong Adegunloye to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute of the game, Udo Owobokiri landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Dumeto Ochuko's late challenge caught a Bucknell's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dumeto Ochuko helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Beacon united getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Dumeto Ochuko hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Esomchi Abhulimhen made a kick off. Esomchi Abhulimhen struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Effiong Adegunloye didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bucknell. When Shawai Adaramoye came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Beacon united fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shawai Adaramoye couldn't finish the play. Cletus Cletus Anosike received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Jibril Anzigah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Effiong Adegunloye showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Onoriode Okorowanta in the 62nd minute of the match. Abazu Osiro charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 66 minutes of play, Bucknell's Onoriode Okorowanta made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Effiong Adegunloye was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Beacon united's zone, Onoriode Okorowanta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Effiong Adegunloye came out of the goal and Onoriode Okorowanta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Beacon united's Egobudike Japhet got a free kick in the 71st minute. Onoriode Okorowanta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mbadiwe Awolowo charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Effiong Adegunloye was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
