After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Boniface Ephraim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Boniface Ephraim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yinka Bamgbelu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bawa Lele's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yinka Bamgbelu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yate FC's goalkeeper Bankole Moses, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Saidu Aduda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bankole Moses having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Yate FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
