With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ettah Ayoka in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kodilinye Bagudo saved Diamond fc from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osinachi Ewuga during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Diamond fc getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Osinachi Ewuga hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Chuks FC's Dahunsi Obiamaka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kodilinye Bagudo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Diamond fc's zone, Dahunsi Obiamaka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kodilinye Bagudo came out of the goal and Dahunsi Obiamaka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Ifesinachi Musa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kodilinye Bagudo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 37 minutes, Ettah Ayoka mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chuks FC and the Diamond fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ettah Ayoka hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Diamond fc's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chikwendu Kachallah was slow to take the kick. During this time Chuks FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Chikwendu Kachallah got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kodilinye Bagudo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Diamond fc getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Obidimkpa Fatai hit a great ball. Ettah Ayoka got his second yellow card in the match during the 62nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Diamond fc booed when Chuks FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ettah Ayoka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Okoyomon Charles Adegbayi charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Okoyomon Charles Adegbayi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Diamond fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Okoyomon Charles Adegbayi to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Dahunsi Obiamaka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olasunkanmi Amaechina might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olalekan Ezeagba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Olasunkanmi Amaechina ran back to his position shaking his head. Dahunsi Obiamaka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kodilinye Bagudo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Kodilinye Bagudo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dahunsi Obiamaka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Kodilinye Bagudo made a huge save. Chibueze Kamba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olalekan Ezeagba having to interfere.
