Buka Effiang kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. When Edorisi Akparanta came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Lexxan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edorisi Akparanta couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Brighton's zone, Erhabor Adelekan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isah Ijoh came out of the goal and Erhabor Adelekan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Edorisi Akparanta came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Lexxan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edorisi Akparanta couldn't finish the play. If Edorisi Akparanta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isah Ijoh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edorisi Akparanta, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Isah Ijoh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benneth Agbi in the 23rd minute of the match. Chukwuemeka Kamuche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isah Ijoh having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Lexxan's Chuka Amokachi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Chuka Amokachi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lexxan protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Chuka Amokachi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 27 minutes into the game, one of Lexxan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Brighton. Buka Effiang stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dosu Famewo. 1-0. After having played for 34 minutes, Erhabor Adelekan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lexxan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erhabor Adelekan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isah Ijoh stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chukwuemeka Kamuche's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Erhabor Adelekan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ugochukwutubelum Ekpoki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Isah Ijoh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omamofe Shorunmu in the 43rd minute of play forced Brighton's goalkeeper Isah Ijoh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isah Ijoh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Omamofe Shorunmu went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.

Lexxan's Dosu Famewo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Onyekachukwu Ojibara in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to Lexxan getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Chukwuemeka Kamuche hit a great ball. In the 66th minute Mala Otite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dosu Famewo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Chukwuemeka Kamuche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Lexxan's Omamofe Shorunmu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isah Ijoh narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erhabor Adelekan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Isah Ijoh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute Omamofe Shorunmu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isah Ijoh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
