Dosu Famewo came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Knapton's Bankole Omanukwue. But to his dismay, Bankole Omanukwue quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Erhabor Adelekan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascal Awu having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Edorisi Akparanta notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Knapton's Pascal Awu. Pascal Awu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute Chukwuemeka Kamuche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascal Awu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edorisi Akparanta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Chukwuemeka Kamuche struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Pascal Awu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lexxan. After a defensive mix-up in Knapton's zone, Benneth Agbi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pascal Awu came out of the goal and Benneth Agbi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edorisi Akparanta's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, Pascal Awu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Lexxan defense, Manasseh Ojudun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dosu Famewo. The Lexxan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dosu Famewo should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Lexxan players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
