In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shoeburynesss's goalkeeper Kabiru Onanuga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Bola Ezeafulukwe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Shoeburynesss's Tang Zhi Hai slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clever Ovie. That made the score 1-0 after 34 minutes of play. Shoeburynesss's Kabiru Onanuga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osar Etete in the 38th minute of play.
