The referee ignored Starry city's protests and gave Obijiaku Udoh a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Obijiaku Udoh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Achebe Munachi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Ginikanwa Acholonu made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Chuffing Hell booed when Starry city was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuel Emecheta didn't get a good kick on the ball.
