Long Lawford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shoeburynesss the free kick. Anene Nanven Garba hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Awenayeri Ajanaku fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ijeli Animam having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Tang Zhi Hai notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Long Lawford's Ijeli Animam. Ijeli Animam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abiola Adebambo Izuogu got free with Kabiru Onanuga in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 35 minutes into the match, Long Lawford's goal looked a bit too open when Awenayeri Ajanaku came free, but Ijeli Animam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maczerob Wasiu hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. If Odetayo Abe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tang Zhi Hai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ijeli Animam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tang Zhi Hai in the 42nd minute of play. Tang Zhi Hai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Ijeli Animam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Long Lawford's Ijeli Animam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tang Zhi Hai in the 52nd minute of play. Ijeli Animam made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Tang Zhi Hai sent off a good shot on target. Long Lawford's Ijeli Animam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Long Lawford from getting a goal against them. Bright Ayotunde kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of Shoeburynesss booed when Long Lawford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anene Nanven Garba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tang Zhi Hai's late challenge caught a Long Lawford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tang Zhi Hai helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Tang Zhi Hai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Awenayeri Ajanaku dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ijeli Animam, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Long Lawford's zone, Awenayeri Ajanaku stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ijeli Animam came out of the goal and Awenayeri Ajanaku tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ijeli Animam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Awenayeri Ajanaku in the 73rd minute of the match. Long Lawford's Ijeli Animam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Long Lawford from getting a goal against them. 76 minutes into the match, Long Lawford's goalkeeper Ijeli Animam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manasseh Ginikanwa. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Ijeli Animam successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Shoeburynesss's Kabiru Onanuga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anene Nanven Garba in the 82nd minute of play. After 84 minutes, Dumetolisa Melkam mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Long Lawford and the Shoeburynesss players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Long Lawford's Dumetolisa Melkam got a free kick in the 84th minute. With a little luck, Long Lawford's Ijeli Animam got control of the ball when Manasseh Ginikanwa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Tang Zhi Hai could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Ijeli Animam however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Anene Nanven Garba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Long Lawford's supporters rose to their feet, but Anene Nanven Garba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kabiru Onanuga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tang Zhi Hai scored 2-3 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ijeli Animam, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Shoeburynesss had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
