Stonehouse's Nkemakolam Ezedinma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clever Amadasu in the 17th minute of play. Emelogu Igwe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Nkemakolam Ezedinma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Stonehouse's goal looked a bit too open when Chukwuma Aatama came free, but Nkemakolam Ezedinma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute Magnus Ukaoha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benson Munachi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magnus Ukaoha in the 26th minute of play forced Earl Shilton's goalkeeper Benson Munachi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emelogu Igwe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nkemakolam Ezedinma read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Chukwuma Aatama notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Stonehouse's Nkemakolam Ezedinma. Nkemakolam Ezedinma was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Earl Shilton's zone, Bimbo Nworgu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benson Munachi came out of the goal and Bimbo Nworgu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Earl Shilton's Benson Munachi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magnus Ukaoha in the 38th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Emelogu Igwe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Earl Shilton's supporters rose to their feet, but Emelogu Igwe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nkemakolam Ezedinma breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clever Amadasu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nkemakolam Ezedinma having to interfere. Magnus Ukaoha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benson Munachi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Clever Amadasu struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Nkemakolam Ezedinma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Earl Shilton. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Magnus Ukaoha made a kick off. Perek Williams kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After 54 played minutes Earl Shilton got a freekick which was hit by Chukwuma Aatama. Magnus Ukaoha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benson Munachi having to interfere. Clever Amadasu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nkemakolam Ezedinma having to interfere. Earl Shilton's Benson Munachi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magnus Ukaoha in the 64th minute of play. Emelogu Igwe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nkemakolam Ezedinma having to interfere. Chukwuma Aatama hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Nkemakolam Ezedinma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clever Amadasu in the 93rd minute of play. Emelogu Igwe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nkemakolam Ezedinma having to make a save. Stonehouse's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
