The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Enoch Usiyan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ekpeyong Koshoni in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Neen Sollars booed when Noble stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nnaemeka Argungu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ozo Bamgbelu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Egobudike Ishola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Udegbunam Onyenagorom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Neen Sollars fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Neen Sollars's Ekpeyong Koshoni looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Enoch Usiyan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eluemuno Eghagha in the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Udegbunam Onyenagorom to make the kick off. When Onwughara Ejoh fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Noble stars's protests and gave Onwughara Ejoh a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Noble stars got a freekick which was hit by Onwughara Ejoh. After 55 minutes, Onodugo Agbo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Neen Sollars and the Noble stars players grew even worse after the yellow card. Onodugo Agbo hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the game, Neen Sollars's Eluemuno Eghagha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Enoch Usiyan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After 66 played minutes Neen Sollars got a freekick which was hit by Ozo Bamgbelu. Udegbunam Onyenagorom struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Egobudike Ishola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Noble stars. Eluemuno Eghagha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egobudike Ishola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Onwughara Ejoh, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Eluemuno Eghagha might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enoch Usiyan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eluemuno Eghagha ran back to his position shaking his head. Ekpeyong Koshoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86th minute, Udegbunam Onyenagorom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Neen Sollars's Eluemuno Eghagha in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
