In the 3rd minute, Amauchechukwu Shagaya ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Godwin Azubuike was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Innocent Eli Azuh hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Amauchechukwu Shagaya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Godwin Azubuike tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Uzochi Yekini notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Birmingham's Godwin Azubuike. Godwin Azubuike was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 24 minutes into the match, Romanus Isiaq had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ajay Adetutu. Manchester ace's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romanus Isiaq was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Muhammadu Momoh got free with Godwin Azubuike in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the game, Romanus Isiaq cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Ajay Adetutu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With 36 minutes on the clock, Uzochi Yekini commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 40th minute, Innocent Eli Azuh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Birmingham booed when Manchester ace was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Omanukwue didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manchester ace's Ajay Adetutu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oluchi Ama-Nwauwa in the 44th minute of play. Kiru Amadasu scored 2-5 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ajay Adetutu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Birmingham were leading 2-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nkadi Abamba was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Birmingham getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Babale Obodoechi hit a great ball. Romanus Isiaq struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Ajay Adetutu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birmingham. Nkadi Abamba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godwin Azubuike having to interfere. Erfan Argungu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ajay Adetutu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romanus Isiaq blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ajay Adetutu having to make a save. Ajay Adetutu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erfan Argungu in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Manchester ace getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Amauchechukwu Shagaya hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, Manchester ace's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Romanus Isiaq fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ajay Adetutu was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Erfan Argungu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Erfan Argungu really showed his touch with that goal: 3-6. 92 minutes into the game, one of Birmingham:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kevin Omanukwue walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 95 minutes into the match, Manchester ace's Nkadi Abamba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godwin Azubuike narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
