The audience thought a goal was coming when Nnaemeka Argungu got free with Benson Munachi in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benson Munachi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Onwughara Ejoh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Udegbunam Onyenagorom could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Benson Munachi made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emelogu Igwe to strike the kick off in the second half. Clever Amadasu in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emelogu Igwe couldn't finish the play. Onwughara Ejoh kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Emelogu Igwe was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 75th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Emelogu Igwe came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Earl Shilton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emelogu Igwe couldn't finish the play. Enoch Usiyan made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Clever Amadasu sent off a good shot on target. Noble stars's Enoch Usiyan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Noble stars from getting a goal against them. If Nnaemeka Argungu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emelogu Igwe was extremely unlucky when he, in the 88th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Earl Shilton's Emelogu Igwe got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emelogu Igwe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enoch Usiyan having to interfere.
