Spectators: 9390 (Terracing: 7045, Seating: 2159, VIP seats: 186) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Onuchukwu Olerum made the kick off which started today's match. The crowd rose to their feet as Borrinchas's Pius Animam slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clever Akpala. That made the score 1-0 after 2 minutes of play. Pius Animam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th match minute, Diss was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venantius Atoyebi to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Diss's zone, Otitodilichukwu Omololu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clever Akpala came out of the goal and Otitodilichukwu Omololu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pius Animam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Clever Akpala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Tobe Atere reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Clever Akpala. The goal made the score 2-0. Kieffers Abaku charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kieffers Abaku the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nwosu Uga hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Pius Animams short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Clever Akpala to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 29 minutes into the game, Pius Animam recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Clever Akpala. Pius Animam showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Pius Animam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clever Akpala having to interfere. Clever Akpala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pius Animam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pius Animam made a kick off. In the 55th minute Tajudeen Ajanaku shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chi-Chi Abimbola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 minutes, Nwosu Uga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Borrinchas and the Diss players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Borrinchas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nwosu Uga to maneuver through the defense. When Eric Monday Kolapo fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diss's protests and gave Eric Monday Kolapo a yellow card for diving instead. Eric Monday Kolapo kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. A collision led to Borrinchas getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Tobe Atere hit a great ball. Pius Animam scored 4-0 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Clever Akpala, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Borrinchas's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Tajudeen Ajanaku scored to the left of an out of position Chi-Chi Abimbola, making the score, 4-1. Borrinchas's Muhammadu Shittu was substituted for Markus Ukpabi. In a very dangerous position, a player in Diss fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Borrinchas. Otitodilichukwu Omololu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Clever Akpala. 5-1. The audience was convinced that Martins Imhagwe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clever Akpala was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Pius Animam might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clever Akpala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pius Animam ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Borrinchas's Chi-Chi Abimbola got control of the ball when Onuchukwu Olerum tried to sneak it across the goal line. Onuchukwu Olerum could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Chi-Chi Abimbola made a huge save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Borrinchas fully deserved thier win.
