Olisanugo Udoka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pius Animam in the 16th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pius Animam in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olisanugo Udoka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chi-Chi Abimbola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ikedi Ayi in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Gbenga Edereho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borrinchas's Otitodilichukwu Omololu got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Flitwick's goal looked a bit too open when Pius Animam came free, but Olisanugo Udoka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th match minute, Borrinchas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martins Imhagwe to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Borrinchas getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Tobe Atere hit a great ball. After 38 minutes, Ikedi Ayi mouthed his way into the referee's book. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pius Animam to make the kick off. Olisanugo Udoka was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Borrinchas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
