In the 4th minute, Bamisile Aghanya left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Daniel united fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Markus Ukpabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 minutes of play, Borrinchas's Pius Animam made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aderounmu Njoku was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute, Martins Imhagwe reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aderounmu Njoku. The goal made the score 2-1. Daniel united's Ijeagha adegbenjo got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th match minute, Daniel united was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bamisile Aghanya to maneuver through the defense. Pius Animam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Aderounmu Njoku made a huge save. In the 26th minute Ijeagha adegbenjo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chi-Chi Abimbola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Daniel united booed when Borrinchas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ogbuefi Akinboboye didn't get a good kick on the ball. Akpan Hashimu kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Martins Imhagwe struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Aderounmu Njoku didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borrinchas. Aderounmu Njoku showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pius Animam, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pius Animam was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Daniel united got a freekick which was hit by Emelogu Okechi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pius Animam in the 52nd minute of play forced Daniel united's goalkeeper Aderounmu Njoku to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otitodilichukwu Omololu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aderounmu Njoku read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martins Imhagwe in the 62nd minute of play forced Daniel united's goalkeeper Aderounmu Njoku to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Borrinchas booed when Daniel united was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ijeagha adegbenjo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Daniel united's Ijeagha adegbenjo got a free kick in the 68th minute. Pius Animam scored 4-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aderounmu Njoku, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Martins Imhagwe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Pius Animam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Pius Animam ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aderounmu Njoku was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Daniel united's Aderounmu Njoku played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martins Imhagwe in the 86th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Ekechukwu Olaniyi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Daniel united's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borrinchas the free kick. Ekechukwu Olaniyi kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Otitodilichukwu Omololu succeeded in the game's 89th minute to get real power on a long shot . Daniel united's Aderounmu Njoku hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 6-1! The supporters of Borrinchas booed when Daniel united was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bamisile Aghanya didn't get a good kick on the ball.
