Clever Akpala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chinwemma Adebote, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. After 6 minutes, Venantius Atoyebi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diss and the Enjoy Yourself players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Enjoy Yourself booed when Diss was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venantius Atoyebi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ositadimma Odiaka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Radomil Olender tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Enjoy Yourself's Radomil Olender proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Enjoy Yourself from getting a goal against them. Diss's Clever Akpala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kunaiyi Onuabunchi in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match Chizuoke Rotimi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clever Akpala showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ositadimma Odiaka struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Radomil Olender didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diss. Clever Akpala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chinwemma Adebote in the 24th minute of the match. Onuchukwu Olerum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Radomil Olender tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Diss's Eric Monday Kolapo got a free kick in the 37th minute. When Chioke Awoyo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Enjoy Yourself fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chioke Awoyo couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ositadimma Odiaka in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radomil Olender saved Enjoy Yourself from getting behind. After 47 played minutes, Enjoy Yourself's Dammy Shaba shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Clever Akpala came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Enjoy Yourself reached it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chinwemma Adebote to make the kick off. Chinwemma Adebote got his second yellow card in the match during the 56th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 57 minutes into the game, Ime Sunday Egbanabo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Enjoy Yourself's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diss the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Enjoy Yourself's zone, Onuchukwu Olerum stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Radomil Olender came out of the goal and Onuchukwu Olerum tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ositadimma Odiaka in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radomil Olender saved Enjoy Yourself from getting behind. Ime Sunday Egbanabo was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Diss booed when Enjoy Yourself was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ime Sunday Egbanabo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enjoy Yourself's Kunaiyi Onuabunchi got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Onuchukwu Olerum fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radomil Olender having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Onuchukwu Olerum managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diss's supporters rose to their feet, but Onuchukwu Olerum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radomil Olender breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Diss's Ositadimma Odiaka got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
